Lest We Forget

With Anzac Day just around the corner I'd like to remind everybody about my service as an officer in the RAAF.
Again, here is what I have said on the matter, verbatim:

"The third day I was in country I got a call from the Royal Air Force asking me if I'ed consider joining the RAAF as a direct entry office in the photo field. I told um about working on the reunion and they said they could delay entry. It seems that they had only one officer left in the photo field with real combat experience. They promised me my choice of posting as a teacher at the photo school at SALE or to the recon lab at Laverton, commission at the rank equivalent of Captain in the USAF and promotion to Major in 2 years. I took it."

ANYBODY THAT DOUBTS THIS YOU WILL JUST HAVE TO BELIEVE ME, NO QUESTIONS!
Let me once again go on record by saying that I hold liars and wannabe's in complete contempt as honorable human beings.

Busy Bitchslapping Tex!

Sorry for the lack of posting lately but I've been busy working on some things behind the scenes. Tex is doing it tough and has succumbed to my relentness bitchslapping of him and is now feeling a
little under the weather.

I've been working on a fictional screen play too which I'll share with you all, here goes:

Scene: American Ex-Servicemen's Association's 16th February meeting at 2PM, Kew RSL, 63 Cotham Rd Kew, VIC 3101

Thom Lyons and Ed Bartosh sit in the RSL waiting for other members to turn up for February meeting.

Thom: Look Ed, it's 2.01PM and it doesn't look like we've got a chorum to hold the meeting we should probably go home.
Ed Bartosh: No Thom, we'll stick around for a little while longer, thanks for offerring to send out the agendas this month Thom, I'll owe you a beer.
Thom: No worries Ed, it was my pleasure. Oh shit that's not George Daic parking his car is it? Bloody hell!

George Daic(President of American Ex-Servicemen's Association) comes storming in pissed off for some reason.

George: Fucking hell you two. Who was the fuckwit that got the address wrong for this meeting?
Ed: Not me George, Thom sent out the agenda's this month.
George: I smell a rat around here. By the way Thom we've got some urgent business to discuss today, haven't we?
Thom: Umm, ahhh. Do we George?

Other confused members turn up after being phoned by George and all arrive just as pissed off for being sent to the wrong address. Meeting Starts.

Thom: I want to move a vote of no confidence in the chair and hence I should chair the meeting being the vice president.
George: Fuck off Thom and sit down.
Thom: Well I call for a show of hands (Thom puts his hand in the air)
George: Looks like you're on your own Thom.
Ed: We've had some urgent correspondence that George has just given me from a chap called Tex that claims one of our members has faked their record.
(Chattering pervades the meeting)
George: Sargeant Thom Lyons have you lied about your service in Nam and claimed to have served as an officer in the RAAF?
Thom: I think the money that we spend on paper clips and red pens in our admin budget is getting out of hand.
Anonymous voice at back of meeting: Just answer the question Thom!!
Thom: You assholes are all nutters and need to get psychiatric help.
George: Sargeant Lyons. Answer the question. Did you serve in the RAAF and fabricate your service record from Vietnam?
Thom: What are we going to do about this imperialist illegal war for oil and how can we stop BushMcHitler picking on this poor Osama bloke?
George: Thom if you can't answer the question then I'll be recommending that we remove you from your position and membership of this organisation. We've got pride in our country Thom and this organisation needs to maintain it's credibility and honor.
Ed: Thom will you sign an SF-180? I see that as the only way to salvage this.
Thom: OK OK already. I'll answer your questions as if I was under oath in a US Court room. Will that suffice?
George, Ed & others: Sure Thom!
George: Did you serve as an officer in the RAAF?
Thom: I plead the fifth amendment.
George: You're fucking wearing my patience thin Thom. Did you lie about what you did in Vietnam?
Thom: I plead the fifth amendment.
Voices from the crowd: You are an apologist to our enemies, traitor!, wannabee!, imposter!!

Spot the Charlatan

The P.O.W NETWORK (www.pownetwork.org) I hold in complete contempt and many times I've implied their dishonesty for the work they do. Here are some of my quotes that I've said about the P.O.W NETWORK. Compare the consistency with damning quotes from others verifying their work and contribution and draw your own conclusions as to who is the true charlatan.

Bloody Flies

Deviating from my fantastic military record for a moment have you ever been bothered by a fly recently? Ever had one crawl on your food, fly past your ear and generally make a real annoyance of themselves? We all have. Now do you want to know who to blame? I blame John Howard and this government and so should you.

Me: "Jumping in Australia is nothing but fun except for the flies. The government stopped the dung beetle program and the flies are back in force in the country."

It never ceases to irk me that we can spend billions on defence, police and the judicial system when we don't have a dung beetle program in operation.
This is as good a time as any to throw my hat in the ring for the next Federal Election. Every time a fly annoys you remember to vote 1 Thom Lyons for PM. If elected I'll install Kerry Nettle as the Minister for Dung Beetles and Bob Brown as the Minister for Dung.
The size of the nation would require us to run big deficits on top of 90% tax rates to run the program effectively but as any smart person knows deficit spending is an investment.
My management experience while an Officer in the RAAF should prove I'm up to the job and we'll hold cabinet meetings in existing facilities at the Aboriginal Tent Embassy.

Classified Information

There seems to be some naysayers out there that are having trouble believing that I served in the RAAF.
Here is what I have said on this matter:

The reason why I am the only RAAF Officer in history to not appear on the RAAF Officers List is that it was all classified. You see I could tell you but I'd have to kill you. If anybody doubts my records please assume it involved classified military missions.

As a Castro loving communist I've always been of the opinion that all taxes go to a good cause and what better cause than me!
You suckers are going to be paying hand over fist to prop up my life, the ultimate house of cards, to pursue an intervention order against finder of truth Tex. I've been really on the backfoot trying to avoid the questions posed to me to confirm my service in the RAAF but I could avoid them no longer and am thankful that you hardworking men and women of this country are forced to burn a hole in your pockets for me. True, I could have averted this by coming clean and admitting my lies at any time but why do that when one can abuse the legal system and use an instument designed for violence to prevent me from having to admit the truth.
If I was smart enough to actually read back over the two way Usenet correspondence I've had I'd probably find I've made threats of violence against others and have never actually received them. In fact this whole exercise is the height of hypocrisy and has no basis. Stop it Thom. I've got to keep telling myself that asking for the truth is the worst of all crimes.
Hope those assholes don't think to counter sue, I could be in deep shit.

Combat Tips

Above a picture of me on my mission that I got nominated for my second CMH. I want to share with my readers some tips to use if they find themselves in a hot LZ like I often found myself in.
I found that if you held your automatic weapon in one hand like I do you can hold the ammo role in the other hand to ensure it feeds properly and it also allows you move around more quickly with better balance. I literally cut a swathe throught the VC with this little trick.
I'm happy to report that I just looked in the mirror and haven't lost any of my condition only my head has aged somewhat and grown a beard. I'm still ready for my next mission, whenever that comes down the tubes.

To the doubting Thommy's out there I'm going to post here my publicly available records here to prove my military exploits. I've been showered with decorations for my heriocs that include the following:

Congressional Medal of Honor(nominated for a second CMH but refused it), Two Silver Stars, four Bronze Stars, two
Soldier's Medals, four Vietnamese Crosses of Gallantry and five Purple
Hearts.
Also will be the accompanying documentation to showing my service in the RAAF and RAF.

Expert Analysis of Crashed US Jet

Given my specialist, expert, shit-hot technical knowledge I gained as a war hero in for the USAF, RAF and RAAF I thought I'd treat my loyal fans to my analysis of the ditching of the FA-18 off the coast near Brisbane.
I blame the fact that we are engaged in an illegal war for oil in Iraq and the fact that Bush, Cheney or Rummy where not on the frontlines themselves. Why wasn't Bush on that flightdeck himself to guide the plane? Why wasn't Rummy barking landing orders over the radio to ensure the pilots safety and hell why wasn't Cheney the pilot?
If it was me in charge of that airplane I would have landed that thing on a dime on a runway half as long and half as wide.
Did I ever tell you the story about when I was in the Blue Angels?

Economic Theory 1 - 0 - Thom

While my job application to head up the US Federal Reserve is being considered I thought I'd share with my army of readers an lesson on how economics really works.
George W Bush and his crime family are to blame for everything[twitching].
I won't just come out with unsubstantiated claims either because Thom Lyons doesn't take part in that caper. So here's how I'll prove it.
Imagine your travelling along in a fuel efficient vehicle at the speed of light and George Bush in his gas guzzling SUV comes up behind you and turns on his headlights. Would you see the lights on the front of ChimpyMcHitlerburtons SUV lit up if you looked in your rear view mirror?
See Ladies and Gentlemen it is that simple. And the answer is to have Bush tried for war crimes in the Hague along with Howard and Tim Blair.

Castro - Model leader

My admiration for Fidel Castro is common knowledge but it is a concern to me that so many people loved Fulgencio Bastista. As far as I'm concerned anybody with a bad word to say about Castro is completely endorsing Bastista. I can't understand why why people on Usenet don't understand that Castro is a freely elected man. Who can argue with his record on literacy and Cuba's medical system. Not to mention the "Labour Education" programs that little kids do at summer camp. This man is a god.
